Museum In Motion

The National Corvette Museum is unlike most other museums in the world. Though located in Bowling Green, Kentucky – the Museum is proud to have members from all across the country and even internationally. In an effort to bring the Museum to the enthusiasts, a selection of excursions are offered each year. Branded “Museum in Motion”, the program features tours around the United States as well as Canada, England and France. The Museum in Motion events combine the fun of driving, socializing with other Corvette enthusiasts, sightseeing and visiting unique places – including many V.I.P. and behind the scenes opportunities that only the Museum can get you.

Past tours have taken participants into places not usually accessible to the public including Milford Proving Grounds, Consumer Reports Auto Test Division, GM Heritage Center, and Pratt & Miller.

Being a self-taught artist, he instead opened an art studio in California, where he would endure the triumphs and failures of the creative world. After losing direction as an artist, he returned to Connecticut to start a family with his wife, Susan. Over a thirty-two-year period, the Ventura family has managed to build their own house, develop a farm, raise three children, take care of Miguel’s parents and keep their business thriving. As rock climbing and tourism have exploded in the last ten years, Miguel’s Pizza has made its name all around the world as a friendly and dependable place to find tasty, fresh and reasonably priced food with a great atmosphere in a world class location.

The Kentucky Coal Museum represent one of Kentucky’s most valuable assets in educating the public about coal mining. Located in the picturesque mining community of Benham and near the U.S. Steel coal camp of Lynch, both of which are unique reservoirs of coal mining history, the museum is fast becoming one of the states must-see destinations. In addition to national magazines like Journals and Southern Living, newspapers from around the country Ohio to California have run feature stories on the museum and its exhibits. When visitors leave, they often say they intend to come back and to tell others about this jewel in the mountains.

Tour of J. Spanky Bunch Art Gallery

Josh grew up in Williamsburg, KY, in a community known as “Slabtown”. He received the nickname, “Spanky” while participating in Little League Baseball, due to his strong resemblance to the character on “The Little Rascals”, and the nickname stuck. Much, of Josh’s artwork, expresses a deep seeded sentimentality, for having grown up in small town, KY. Consistent themes in his artwork, concern his spirituality, his interest in music, and his passionate interpretation of Eastern KY living.

Visitors to the area have gotten a thrill walking across the landmark 30-foot wide natural sandstone arch for well over a century. Currently, the park contains about 2,300 acres and is surrounded by the Daniel Boone National Forest. The natural sandstone arch that is the key point of this KY state park spans an impressive 78 feet and is over 65 feet high. If you don’t want to hike the 0.75-mile trail to the top of the arch, you can always take the Sky Lift (it’s like a ski lift).
