Michael LaRocca Named Chairman of the National Corvette Museum Board

Effective January 1, 2026, the National Corvette Museum welcomes Michael LaRocca as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. Though his title is new, LaRocca’s connection to the Corvette community and the Museum runs deep.

“Corvette is more than performance or design,” said LaRocca. “It’s about people coming together around a shared passion. The National Corvette Museum brings that passion to life.”

LaRocca joined the Board in 2020, shortly after purchasing his first Corvette—a 2019 ZR1. He and his two sons participated in the Build Your Own Engine experience at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant, where he saw firsthand how the Corvette legacy builds lasting memories across generations.

“Being on the assembly line with my kids, building the engine together, was one of the best experiences of my life,” he said.

Focused on Growth, Collaboration, and Legacy

As Chairman, LaRocca brings a thoughtful and focused approach to governance. He emphasizes the importance of strong Board-staff collaboration and a mission-centered strategy for the Museum’s long-term success.

“Our role as a Board is to provide governance, vision, and accountability,” he said. “We empower the Museum’s leadership team to drive innovation and excellence.”

Under LaRocca’s guidance, the Board is prioritizing several strategic goals:

Encouraging innovation grounded in mission

Promoting collaboration across Museum entities, including NCM Motorsports Park and NCM Insurance

Supporting enhanced member engagement and communication

Strengthening ties with the Bowling Green community

Championing transparency and trust among Members and stakeholders

Supporting the Museum’s Next Era of Preservation

LaRocca has played a key leadership role in the capital campaign for the Museum’s upcoming 66,000-square-foot Collections Facility, set to open in Fall 2026. His family contributed a lead gift to the project, which will include the Michael LaRocca and Family Atrium as the entry point for all guided tours.

“This project is about protecting Corvette’s legacy while expanding how guests engage with it,” said LaRocca. “We’re building a facility that supports world-class preservation and inspires future generations.”

The new facility will house some of the most historically significant Corvettes and artifacts in the Museum’s collection. It will feature behind-the-scenes tours and dedicated areas for vehicle preservation and artifact conservation.

A Life in Motion with America’s Sports Car

In addition to his role with the Museum, LaRocca is founder of Ready Motorsports, a company dedicated to automotive performance and customer racing. His experience gives him a unique perspective on what drives Corvette owners—from the racetrack to the Museum floor.

“Corvette is a culture, not just a car,” said LaRocca. “And the Museum is the home for that culture. We’re building on a strong foundation, and I’m honored to be part of that journey.”

Born in Nottingham, England, Andy came to the United States in 1981 with nothing but ambition and a dream. At the age of 26, he entered his first professional race behind the wheel of a Renault Cup car, driving it 1,400 miles to the event and sleeping in it along the way.

The National Corvette Museum proudly announces that Ken Lingenfelter, a legendary name in Corvette performance and a dedicated Museum supporter, has joined the Museum’s Board of Directors as an At-Large Member. With a lifetime dedicated to high-performance automobiles and the Corvette community, Ken’s expertise, leadership, and enthusiasm will be invaluable as the Museum continues to innovate and expand its mission.

“Corvette has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I am honored to join the National Corvette Museum Board,” said Ken Lingenfelter. “The Museum is a vital institution that preserves Corvette’s incredible history while inspiring future generations of enthusiasts. I look forward to working alongside this dedicated team to help drive the Museum into an exciting future.”

Ken’s love for speed and performance runs deep. The son of a General Motors executive who served as a manager at the Fisher Body Assembly Plant in Euclid, OH, developed an early appreciation for stylish, high-performance cars and purchased his first Corvette in 1977. Over the decades, his passion grew into a world-renowned collection of muscle cars, Corvettes, and exotics. In 2008, Ken acquired Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, founded by his distant cousin John Lingenfelter. Under his leadership, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has continued to push the boundaries of automotive performance, earning a reputation for innovation and excellence.

Ken’s involvement with the Museum spans many years as a member, donor, and exhibitor, with numerous significant Corvettes from his collection on display throughout the Museum’s history. Most recently, his 1954 Chevrolet Corvette EX-87 Duntov Mule, an iconic piece of Corvette history, was showcased at the Museum for more than a year.

“Ken’s passion for Corvette is unmatched, and his knowledge of performance, innovation, and the enthusiast community will be a tremendous asset to the Museum,” said Kaye Wagner, National Corvette Museum Board Chair. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the Board at such an exciting time as we build on the momentum of an incredible 2024 and prepare for an even bigger 2025.”

Ken joins the Museum Board during a year of momentum, following a highly successful 2024, which opened new exhibitions including An American Love Affair: Pop Culture and Corvette, and successful events like the National Corvette Caravan. Looking ahead to 2025, the Museum will debut a new exhibition on March 7, Speed Captured: The Photographic Works of Richard Prince featuring the work of legendary Corvette photographer Richard Prince, undertake the preservation of Zora Arkus-Duntov’s personal Corvette, unveiling a reimagined Corvette Hall of Fame exhibition, new mission-based STEAM programming in the McMichael Family Education Gallery, and much more.

With Ken’s deep-rooted passion, industry expertise, and commitment to the Corvette legacy, his addition to the Board ensures that the National Corvette Museum will continue to inspire, educate, and fuel the love for America’s Sports Car for generations to come.
