Corvette Caravan Update 03/11/2024:

Welcome to another update of the Eastern Kentucky/Tennessee Corvette Caravan for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the National Corvette Museum. As you are probably aware, the registration process has begun at the NCM website as well as the Nashville Superspeedway track. The online registration at the NCM is $50.00 for lifetime members, $60.00 for members and $85 for non-members. The on-site registration will cost a little more with lifetime members at $60.00, members at $70.00 and non-members at $95.00. Cutoff date for the registration process is August 5th but the Caravan registration will end on July 8th. The credentials, dash plaques and event pins will be sent to the captains but after that date, you will have to pick them up at the NCM.

There are no big changes at this time until after The Bash and then the NCM will open up the events for registration. I did talk to Bryce about the events and they will be something going on every night ending with the Hall of Fame induction on Saturday night at Skypac in downtown Bowling Green. Speaking of the NCM, they do have 30th Anniversary items for sale at the store from tumblers to t-shirts.

This 30th Anniversary decal that can be purchased from me for $10.00.

On August 28th, we will meet at the Nashville Superspeedway at 10:00am to hand out credentials and get the cars organized. The track is located near Lebanon, TN and easily accessible. We will start at 11:00am and when done, head up to the Driftwood restaurant located at Barren Lake. After that, I will take you over to the NCM and from there; you can make your own way to where you want to go. The NCM is still working out logistics about the arrival times at the NCM due to the large number of cars that are heading there. Arrival time will be determined at a later date.

For those that are not near the caravan location, I will be asking the other caravans to please list their routes so people will have an idea what caravan to join. For those in Louisville, KY, there is a caravan that will coming through Louisville from Michigan and will stopping there for lunch. Check the Corvette Caravan page on the NCM website for more information.

At this time, I have 40 cars registered for the Eastern Kentucky/Tennessee caravan. I will be adding the email addresses to my caravan email and send out updates in between online updates. For the Nashville Track information, we only have 23 cars registered so far and I will need another 177 cars to make it happen. The track costs are $100 plus $10 for track insurance.

Corvette Caravan Update 12/25/2023:

The attendee’s information will be sent to the captains on the beginning of each month. So far, there are 14 people registered for the E. KY/TN caravan. On the trackside of things, it’s been a little slower with only 6 cars registered so far. It doesn’t cost anything to sign up but I do need the numbers so I can plan accordingly. They require a contract for us to do this and a cash deposit to reserve the track otherwise it won’t be available. So don’t wait on the track sign-up until May. Here is the registration for the track: https://www.vetswithvettes.org/2024caravan

One update to pass along is that I have a Co-Captain for the Eastern part of Kentucky. She is Co-Captain Carolyn Reynolds and she lives in Richmond, Kentucky. Once the holidays are over, I will get into discussions about the locations and names of the various members who have registered for the caravan. Her and her husband Randy will be in charge of the Eastern part of the state. I’ll have more as we go along.

Corvette Caravan Update 11/04/2023:
Here’s an Corvette Caravan update for Nov 4th. The registration for the 30th Corvette Caravan and the Celebration will occur on Nov. 1st. The good news is that it is a one-stop shop for both the Caravan and the Celebration. Pick your caravan and see what is available for the Celebration. Bear in mind that this far out, not everything will be there to be selected. This will change over time. Instructions are on the NCM web page for registration.

On the Nashville Superspeedway, we have been in contact with the speedway officials and working on the schedule for the lap day. There are now two caravans that will do this and we should have the minimum number of 200 cars. We will have a registration process for those that want to do this and also allow us to see what caravan that you will be on.  Price is still $100 plus $10 for insurance for the track. More information as we go along. The website is now active for the racetrack registration at https://www.vetswithvettes.org/2024caravan.  As a reminder, the 30th Anniversary Celebration will be August 29 thru September 31, 2024. Save the date!

Corvette Caravan Update 9/18/2023:
Nashville Superspeedway: I have talked to the person that can put us on the track and we are very close to getting it done.  With the assistance of several caravans, we will easily reach the 200-car limit and possibly more. The price per car is $100 plus $10 for insurance. If it goes down below 200 cars, the price will increase, but I don’t think that will happen, judging by the level of interest from the other caravans. At present, we will meet up with the other caravans at the Superspeedway location and then get the cars lined up for the track. There will be a pace car that we will follow and only go at 70 mph on the track in batches of 15 cars. Once the registration has opened up we can start to work on getting confirmation of those that want the track time and payment for it.

Route: The route hasn’t changed except for the number of cars on it. We will meet in Murfreesboro and then drive over to the track from there. After the track time, I planned to go up the road from there to Lake Barren where the state of Kentucky has a lake resort to have a late lunch, and then proceed into Bowling Green and drop you off at the  Motorsports Park for parking. From there, you can go to the NCM or go to your hotels. At this time, I don’t have anything set up in Kentucky yet but I’m working on it.

Corvette Caravan Update 8/11/2022:
Here is another update for the Eastern Kentucky/Tennessee Corvette Caravan. We had a captain’s meeting in late April at The Bash where we learned much about the 30th Anniversary in 2024. A few things were told to us regarding changes from past Caravans. One of them is no flags will be provided for participants. Another item is no windshield banners for the 2024 caravan. That said, there will be full color and black and white decals that will be available for sale when the 30th Anniversary starts. The large clings, that were there in the past, will not offered. Only the 30th Anniversary logo decal will be available as shown here.

Corvette Caravan Update 5/5:
Nashville Superspeedway Track Lap Day – 2024 Caravan
We had a captain’s meeting last Saturday and talked about a few things like parking, routes coming into Bowling Green, and driving around the NCM. As it is too early for concrete information, they will keep working on the issues and get back to us. As before, registration won’t start until after the 29th Anniversary event and then I will have an idea of how many will be coming.
I had a request for a different routing so I started looking around and I think that I found something that will work. At this time, I plan to start in Murfreesboro,TN. at the Pilot Travel Center located off of I-24 and Hwy 231. I don’t have a showtime yet as that depends on something that may or may not happen. I planned to drive up Hwy 231 up toward Kentucky and come in a back way into the Motorsports Park. However, the Nashville Superspeedway is along the way and I talked to one of the people that handles the events for the Speedway. There are some discrepancies between what he told me and what he put out in a flyer and I will get that squared away.  The bottom line is that we can have a 3 to 4-hour window for track laps on August 28, 2024. The costs for 3 to 5 track laps would be $100 per car. Max speed would be 75 mph and you would be led by an Official Track Pace Car. There is a possibility of other caravans joining in which could make it an all-day affair. I will be in touch with the other caravan captains to find out as they have been talking to him as well.
