America’s Sports Car… an exciting legend produced only in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Museum features over 80 Corvettes in periodic settings, including mint classics, one-of-a-kind prototypes and modern-day wonders of engineering and design. Test your knowledge at interactive trivia kiosks, and don’t miss the chance to try a Corvette on for size in our lobby where we have a 2015 Stingray waiting for you. Displays continually rotate so no two visits are the same. Round out your visit with a souvenir from the Corvette Store, grab a bite to eat in the Corvette Cafe, and race over to the NCM Motorsports Park to spectate or take a lap!

2019 MiM KY 1 Lap (2)

October  14 – October 19

2019 will be the 10th annual KY 1 Lap tour, part of the Museum in Motion (MiM) program and unique in that it is a partnership between the National Corvette Museum and the Kentucky State Police. The two organizations join together to raise money for both the Museum and Trooper Island, a KSP non-profit camp for underprivileged children. Each year the tour explores a different section of Kentucky. As always, the tour will be led by a Kentucky State Trooper, now using a marked Kentucky State Police Gray Corvette which is sure to attract attention as the caravan travels through an area of real Americana.

Due to overwhelming interest, we are offering this tour 4 different weeks in October.

2019 MiM KY 1 Lap (2) –

 October 14th – October 19th, 2019

Jonathan Biven – Trooper Island Camp Director now using a newly painted marked silver Corvette which is sure to attract attention as the caravan travels through an area of real Americana.  This year we are discovering some of our main attractions that have made KY famous. Bourbon, Horses, and the Rebecca Ruth Candy Factory.

Due to overwhelming interest, we are offering this tour 4 consecutive weeks in October.

The story of Rebecca-Ruth Candy begins in 1919 with two substitute school teachers, Ruth Hanly and Rebecca Gooch. After much praise from family and friends for chocolates they had given during Christmas, they decided they were better candy makers than substitute teachers. At the Frankfort Hotel, the two women rented the barroom and began making chocolates on a 12-foot curved marble table now called “Eda’s Table”.

The annual NCM Corvette Racing Weekend at the AACA Museum continues to grow. Festivities begin on Thursday evening with a Meet and Greet at Troegs Independent Brewery and end on Sunday with the Corvettes for Chip show in Carlisle.

Registration for this event will close on Tuesday, October 15th at 9am CT.

For those participating in the Poker Run, your Registration Packet will be available for pick-up. Friday 10/25 Dinner
The Corvette Racing Dinner, featuring Doug Fehan and Tommy Milner, kicks-off on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 6:15pm with a reception (cash bar). The duo will host a 2019 Corvette Racing Seminar during a buffet dinner (cash bar) which will start at 7:15pm. Joining Doug and Tommy will be special guest Lance Miller. The evening will close with an autograph session. Friday tickets are $75 for General Admission and include Saturday admission. Also included is admission to the AACA Museum.

In honor of Briggs Cunningham, 2019 Corvette Hall of Fame Inductee, his #3 Le Mans Corvette will be on display, thanks to the wonderful generosity of Lance Miller.

Please note that tickets for Friday’s dinner event must be purchased in advance, and no tickets will be sold at the door. Ticket sales for the dinner end on Thursday, October 17, 2019

Friday’s tickets are limited to 150.

Poker Run – Friday 10/25

For this year’s Poker Run we will travel to the Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine and Steam Train in Ashland, PA. Pioneer Tunnel is a horizontal drift mine. You make the trip in comfort, riding in open mine cars pulled by a battery-operated mine motor. The temperature inside the mine averages 52 degrees, so a sweater or jacket is recommended. The tour is educational as well as entertaining. This tour is handicap accessible and is appropriate for people of all ages. No pets allowed inside the mine. The visit will also include traveling back through time on an old-time narrow gauge steam locomotive, the Henry Clay. Built in the 1920s, The Henry Clay takes you on a scenic three-quarter mile ride around the side of Mahanoy Mountain to show you another kind of mining called strip mining. Both rides last approximately a half-hour.

In the works is a trip to a Pottsville PA institution on the way back to Hershey.

The Poker Run will start at the AACA Museum parking lot on Friday at 8am and will finish in plenty of time to relax before the Corvette Racing Dinner. Schedule to follow.

 Go “Behind the Scenes” at the AACA Museum, Inc.!

Have you ever wanted to go “Behind the Scenes” to see some of the treasures not currently on view?   Want no more! We are opening up our collections storage “garage” for you to tour on Saturday, October 26th from 7:30 – 9:00 AM. Explore about 50-70 additional vehicles in our 15,000 sq. ft. “garage”- it’s like a second museum!

Corvettes for Chip – Sunday 10/27

We are excited to announce Corvettes for Chip has agreed to team up with the NCM. Stay over Saturday night and enjoy a nice evening in the Hershey area. On Sunday morning, join the Corvettes for Chip festivities in Carlisle, PA (less than an hour from the AACA Museum). As most of you know, Chip was the creator of Corvettes at Carlisle and was taken from us too soon from a little known disease called Amyloidosis. Corvettes for Chip™ is an organization of Corvette enthusiasts who host an annual Corvette car show to increase the awareness of the disease and donate the net proceeds to the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation for Amyloidosis Research.

Corvette Caravan Time
