America’s Sports Car… an exciting legend produced only in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Museum features over 80 Corvettes in periodic settings, including mint classics, one-of-a-kind prototypes and modern-day wonders of engineering and design. Test your knowledge at interactive trivia kiosks, and don’t miss the chance to try a Corvette on for size in our lobby where we have a 2015 Stingray waiting for you. Displays continually rotate so no two visits are the same. Round out your visit with a souvenir from the Corvette Store, grab a bite to eat in the Corvette Cafe, and race over to the NCM Motorsports Park to spectate or take a lap!

Museum in Motion Tours bring Corvette enthusiasts together to enjoy driving their Corvettes and visiting new, unique, interesting and exciting venues. Join us as we explore our some of the most unique and awe inspiring landscapes America has to offer. With visits to the Grand Canyon’s South Rim, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Arches National Park, Glen Canyon Dam, Monument Valley, and Canyonlands National Park we you will get to enjoy some of the crown jewels of the National Park system

Bryce Canyon, which despite its name, is not a canyon, but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The red, orange, and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views for park visitors. Bryce sits at a much higher elevation than nearby Zion National Park. The rim at Bryce varies from 8,000 to 9,000 feet

2017 will usher in the 8th annual KY 1 Lap tour, part of the Museum in Motion (MiM) program and unique in that it is a partnership between the National Corvette Museum and the Kentucky State Police. The two organizations will join to raise money for both the Museum and Trooper Island, a KSP non-profit camp for underprivileged children. Each year the Tour explores a different section of Kentucky. As always, the tour will be led by a Kentucky State Trooper, now using a marked red Corvette which is sure to attract attention as the caravan travels through an area of real Americana.  This year we head to Eastern KY where we will learn about coal mining, country music and visit some of our beautiful KY State Parks. Due to overwhelming interest, we are offering this tour 3 consecutive weeks in October.

They brought their brand of country music to an admiring public, and gained fame and fortune for themselves and new respect for coal miners everywhere.

1:00pm – 3:00pm Webb General Store / Loretta Lynn’s Butcher Holler

Take a step back in time at Webb’s Grocery. The general store is over 100 years old and is currently owned by Loretta Lynn’s brother, Herman Webb. The store was portrayed in the movies “Coal Miner’s Daughter”, “Let It Be War”, and “Fifth Hollar”.

Butcher Holler is home of the world’s most famous coal miner’s daughter, Loretta Lynn. Her birthplace and family home is nestled between two fog shrouded mountains up a ‘holler’ in Van Lear, KY. Loretta, her sisters Patsy and Crystal Gayle, sang songs with attitude and pride. They brought their brand of country music to an admiring public, and gained fame and fortune for themselves and new respect for coal miners everywhere.

Country music fans will be intrigued by country music star memorabilia and displays dedicated to the country music entertainers who were born or lived near U.S. Route 23 in eastern KY. Exhibits include Johnson County’s own Chris Stapleton, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, Hylo Brown and many more artists

The Mountain Home Place is an 1850’s working farm. Buildings include a double-pen cabin, one-room school, church, blacksmith shop, and barn. While touring the grounds, you will see many farm animals. Interpreters in authentic period costumes perform daily chores on the farm – sharing information relating to the area during this critical time in America’s history.

No park better embodies Kentucky’s unspoiled wilderness than Natural Bridge, located in the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest in eastern KY. It has taken nature millions of years to form the natural sandstone arch from which Natural Bridge was named.

As with all our KY State Parks, delight in the mountainside beauty of Hemlock Lodge and Sandstone Arches Restaurant. You will find this park a kaleidoscope of spectacular natural beauty with each passing season.

1:30pm – 3:00pm Ride the Natural Bridge Sky lift

For a more relaxing climb to natural bridge, enjoy a ride on the skylight. The ascent begins one-half mile from the park entrance and ends within 600 feet of Natural Bridge.

Corvette Plant Tour

The Corvette Plant is located just across the street. Tours are offered every 15 minutes Monday through Friday starting at 8:30am Central Time. The last tour departs at 1:45pm. Tours are $10 per adult and $5 per student age 10-16, or purchase a combo ticket for the plant and museum for $16.
