Beginning May 9th, the National Corvette Museum’s new CorvetteStore.com will offer a limited edition 2023 Mobil 1 Oil Drop Award. Priced at $3,700 to celebrate 30 years of Mobil 1 being the factory fill oil of choice for Corvette, as well as honoring Corvette’s 70th Anniversary as America’s Sports Car.  

The award will be available on the newly reimagined CorvetteStore.com at 10 a.m. (CT) on May 9. This award is exclusively available for purchase on the National Corvette Museum’s Corvette Store website and cannot be purchased in person.  

The legacy of Corvette Racing and Mobil 1 is hard to beat. With only 30 of these awards made, the award features oil from the 2023 Mobil 1 C8.R Corvette race car, encased in hand-blown glass drops. On top of the award, two miniature C8 Corvettes are displayed beneath an American Flag. The Corvette models are accompanied by informational plates that list some of the outstanding accomplishments Corvette and Mobil 1 have achieved together. 

“With 30 years of success together, the partnership between Mobil 1 and Corvette demonstrates how technology can evolve and innovate to enhance performance,” explained Michelle Hassinger, North American OEM Marketing Manager, ExxonMobil. “The Oil Drop award is a unique way to celebrate that legacy, and we’re excited to partner with the National Corvette Museum to offer one to the public.”

This special collection of vintage items was provided to the Corvette Store by generous donors and will thrill Corvette lovers of all ages. The Corvette lifestyle – including some of the retro looks of the 1970’s and 1980’s – has been a part of Corvette since 1953, and the new Vintage Shop gives any Corvette fan the chance to add some retro looks to their collection.

Unique vintage finds available for purchase on Monday, April 8, 2024, include rare jackets and t-shirts along with accessories. Rare items like a lighted and colorized Corvette Dollars, a 1965 Corvette Stingray metal flake model kit, and a VHS tape rewinder modeled after a 1963 split window are just a sampling of the items available.

As you begin your journey through the Museum, become immersed in the history and culture of the Corvette’s invention. Yes, you may see other brands of cars, like the Ford Thunderbird, however, take a moment and read why. Explore the E. Pierce Marshall Memorial Performance Gallery, and see record-setting Corvettes, like the one Corvette Hall of Famer, Tommy Morrison crushed the 24-hour endurance record in!

One of our newest exhibits, Driven by Design, spotlights the creativity and process of how the Corvette is designed. Interactive elements make this exhibit fun for all ages. Enter through the Skydome and be amazed by unique vehicles including the 1 Millionth Corvette, the one and only 1983, and more! For a limited time, see Custom CARisma, an exhibit highlighting the legendary creations of custom car builder, Carl Casper. Don’t forget to commemorate your visit by shopping in the Corvette Store!
