2021 MiM KY 1 Lap

2021 will usher in the 12th annual KY 1 Lap tour, part of the Museum in Motion (MiM) program and unique in that it is a partnership between the National Corvette Museum and the Kentucky State Police. The two organizations will join to raise money for both the Museum and Trooper Island, a KSP non-profit camp for underprivileged children. Each year the Tour explores a different section of Kentucky. As always, the tour will be led by TPR. Jonathan Biven – Trooper Island Camp Director in the KSP’s  silver Corvette which always attracts attention as the caravan travels through an area of real Americana.  This year are discovering attractions in and around beautiful Bardstown, KY!

Arrive and Tour Aviation Heritage Park

Aviation Heritage Park is a must-see addition to the list of aviation museums. Rather than a graveyard of old airplanes, the artifacts on exhibit live to tell the stories of regional heroes. See aircraft telling the stories of Vietnam War aviators, a T-38 trainer flown by every Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo astronaut, and a Cub honoring an African American woman who trained the Tuskegee Airmen. Visitors are encouraged to see and touch the aircraft while allowing their imagination to soar.

The Historic Rail Park & Train Museum and L&N Depot brings alive the magic and adventure of railroading every day. This historic national landmark allows you to see, touch, and explore important railroad artifacts of our region’s heritage. The current L&N Depot was built in 1925 to replace an older station. At one time, over 20 trains per day departed the current site, providing a hub for Bowling Green’s economic foundation and exposure to travelers between Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN.
