Barn Raising 101:
New to the Barn Raising event? Here are the basics of registration…

What are the registration fees for Barn Raising IV?

  • $10.00/person for Lifetime NCM Members
  • $15.00/person for all other NCM Membership
  • $25.00/person for all registrants with no active NCM membership
  • (Note: Some events may have separate fees associated.)

How do I register for Barn Raising IV?

  • Sign up for only those events for which you know you will be attending.
  • Pricing, schedules and staffing (by the venue hosts) are driven by the size of our group. Accurate head counts are expected by our various event hosts, as they are important to ensure the success of each event.
  • Some of the events are scheduled concurrently, to give multiple options.
    • These options will be indicated as such on the registration page via a numbering system. (Example: The first morning event for day one will be labeled D1-M1, etc.)
    • Please choose only one option for the mornings and evenings. Again, accurate headcounts are extremely important to our event hosts.
  • Several of the events have an additional fee associated, above the registration fee.
    • Of these events, some require pre-payment, in order to guarantee attendance. The events for which payment is due at the time of registration is as follows:
      • Rail museum and Tour, which includes lunch.
      • Studio 1 Spa event.
      • Bowling Green Pipe and Cigar “Cigar Basics” class
      • Corsair Artisan Distillery Tour
    • Other events have fees that are paid individually at the venue, as noted on the agenda. Please plan accordingly.
  • Some events have a registration deadline.
    • These events will be closed for additional participants once the deadline has passed.

What happens when I register…???  Good question!! You get…

  • Access to the activities listed on the agenda, which are only open to those that register for the BR IV.
  • A reserved spot for any of the agenda activities/events for which you have signed up for during registration.
  • Access to our negotiated, group-rate discounts on those events for which pre-payment is required.
  • The Barn Raising registration packet, which includes the NCM lanyard and visit badge, which allows access to the NCM throughout the weekend. Also, the printed agenda and information on local activities, shopping and dining.
  • All those registered for BR IV qualify for the group rate at Hampton Inn of Bowling Green.
  • Proceeds from the registration fees go directly to the NCM.

Where should I stay? Why?

  • The Hampton Inn of Bowling Green has graciously offered, as in past years, to be the Official Host Hotel of Barn Raising IV.
  • Special negotiated rates are being extended to all attendees that have registered for BR IV.
  • The majority of the staging for activities/events takes place in the Hampton Inn parking Lot.
  • The vast majority of the scheduled, evening activities take place right at the hotel.

  • About the distillery: Tennessee childhood friends Darek Bell and Andrew Webber hit a snag while working on a prototype bio-diesel plant together. Both home-brewers and whiskey connoisseurs in their past time, Andrew remarked that he'd much rather the drum containers of vegetable oil mixture were filled with whiskey. The idea stuck, and the two soon found themselves studying distilleries and spirits. In 2006, Corsair Distillery was founded in Bowling Green, KY. Corsair’s spirits have been praised in publications like Food and Wine, Saveur, Imbibe, Whisky Magazine, Whisky Advocate, the Atlantic, Time Out New York, and Maxim.com. Corsair’s innovative and adventurous spirits have won 41 medals at international spirits competitions. The distillery has since expanded into Nashville, TN, but the original production site remains in use and relatively unchanged. Andrew and Derek continue to experiment in making gins, whiskeys, and other spirits using ancestral recipes, smoked grains, hops, and botanical infusions. A tour of Corsair's original distillery will give you an artisan perspective of distilling, followed by an opportunity to taste Corsair's award-winning craft spirits in their newly remodeled tasting room and gift shop.
