NCM VIR HPDE

June 30-July 1, 2014

We return to VIR, sans the Oak Tree, at our traditional time slot, the very end of June.  A premier event and one of the jewels in the NCM track program crown.  Now going into the 8th year we expect and even better event.  As always we combine substantial track time, direct access to GM Corvette designers and engineers along with celebrity instructors like Andy Pilgrim and John Heinricy.  PrimeDrive returns in the same improved format from 2013 with its own run session on track.  This special run group is a 1-day event for those who want to just try a DE to see if they like it.

The Monday evening banquet was a resounding success in 2013 and we are pleased to announce that it will remain part of our event in 2014 although it will be $30 this year.   The banquet is a buffet dinner in the Gallery at VIR (to the left of the road leading to the North Paddock) with cash bar starting at 5:45pm.  Pre-registration is required to attend and there will be a very limited number of on-site tickets available so make sure you include this item in your registration for yourself and your guest.

On Monday at lunchtime students and instructors (only) will be able to take part in a lead-follow to see the line at low speed. If time permits on Tuesday at lunch we may have parade laps for event volunteers and spectators. Participants interested in taking part in the parade laps will have to register and get a wrist band, similarly, everyone (other than a student/instructor) wanting to ride with an instructor during a track session will have to register at the NCM HQ tent as well.

Andy Pilgrim, John Heinricy and Shields Bergstrom are expected to return and be teaching an advanced driver class as well as giving rides in student cars. Signup for all rides will be at the NCM HQ desk in the paddock. Also returning are GM engineers and designers. We have also arranged for the track photographer to be in attendance.

Students (including PrimeDrive) are reminded that their VIR Drivers Classification Form is due immediately after registering and no later than May 2. All registrants must download and complete appropriate sections of the VIR Participant’s Package and bring the required forms with them. Both forms have been updated so make sure you read through them carefully so that you are fully prepared to take part and have a good time at VIR. Hotel information is located in the Classification paperwork.

The 2-day HPDE is $485 for an NCM member and $525 for non-member (includes a 1 year discounted membership), PrimeDrive is $120.  Registration closes 8am ct on April 30th and there are no refunds after May 30th.    For a lap around VIR click here.

All attendees should pay particular attention to the Paddock Map as incorrectly placed vehicles will have to be moved.
