The
1998 Corvette Celebration was the most successful
event held at the NCM since Grand Opening. Attendance
was estimated at 10,500 and there were approximately
1,500 Corvettes.
Almost
$40,000 of raffle tickets on the 1998 Convertible
were sold during the event. Total raffle ticket
sales for the year were $253,890. Sponsorships
and ad sales increased by over $6,000 from the
previous year. New memberships totaled $18,570
and new bricks were $5,150.
The
photo opportunity at the plant proved to be
very popular with almost $3,000 in orders. The
1st Corvette Golf Challenge drew
60 participants and generated over $3,000 in
additional revenue.
Over
40 participants enjoyed the new Quadra Challenge
and the winner drove a 1957 Convertible. The
Celebrity Fun Show awarded plaques to 40 Corvette
owners.
Special
donations from clubs and individuals totaled
over $50,000. We particularly thank the Glen
Regional Corvette Club for their $25,000 and
Andy and Bethany Roderick for their $10,000
donation of stock.
More
importantly everyone went home pleased that
they had come. Our number one goal was for everyone
to have fun. We were thrilled because you were
thrilled. We thank everyone who traveled to
Bowling Green and participated in the Celebration.
We
especially thank the over 200 volunteers who
worked many hours to help assure things were
orderly and were fun. It was truly a labor of
love.
To
our members, our supporters and all that attended
– we thank you for making this the most successful
Celebration since Grand Opening.
Now
on to the 5th anniversary and the
National Corvette Caravan with over 10,000 Corvettes
expected. See you at the 1999 Corvette Celebration
over Labor Day Weekend!
