MiM KY 1 Lap (Tour 2)

The 6th Annual Kentucky 1-Lap Tour is a partnership between the National Corvette Museum and the Kentucky State Police, raising money for the Museum and Trooper Island, a KSP non-profit camp for underprivileged children. Each year the tour explores a different section of Kentucky, led by a KSP trooper in a marked red Corvette.

The tour is offered three consecutive weeks in October.

  • Tour 1 – Oct. 12 Through Oct. 17
  • Tour 2 – Oct. 19 Through Oct. 24
  • Tour 3 – Oct. 26 Through Oct. 31

Although widely claimed by Illinois Abraham Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky’s Sinking Spring site and remained there until the family moved to the Knob Creek Farm northeast of Hodgenville when he was two years old.  The family lived in the Knob Creek location until he was seven years old. The Sinking Spring site is the location of the park visitor’s center.

The Old Talbott Tavern was built in 1779, a year before the settlement of Salem (later renamed Bardstown) began, making it the “oldest western stagecoach stop” still in operation. Visitors in the 19th century included future presidents Andrew Jackson, William Henry Harrison, and Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln’s parents stayed at the tavern when a court ruling went against them, leading the family to move to Indiana when Lincoln was only seven years old

Let’s go to Tucson!! What better way to get away from old man winter! The NCM’s Museum in Motion heads to Tucson, AZ for a week of great weather – great friends – great attractions. With the help of our NCM friends George and Vicki Hicks along with the Tucson Corvette Club – they have offered to show us around their beautiful Tucson area. Just to list a few highlights – scenic drives to Saguaro National Park, Sabino Canyon, and Superstition Mountain Area. Enjoy museums such as the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and the Pima Air and Space Museum. Tour will end with a day in the rough and tough city of Tombstone!

The 6th Annual Kentucky 1-Lap Tour is a partnership between the National Corvette Museum and the Kentucky State Police, raising money for the Museum and Trooper Island, a KSP non-profit camp for underprivileged children. Each year the tour explores a different section of Kentucky, led by a KSP trooper in a marked red Corvette.

The tour is offered three consecutive weeks in October.

The National Corvette Museum, with the assistance of the Corvette Club of Rhode Island, presents “Marble and Glass Corvette Weekend” in Newport, Rhode Island May 18-22, 2016. The trip includes mansion tours, an ocean drive Corvette cruise, Fort Adams tour, America’s Cup 12-meter yacht charter, scenic bus tour of historic Newport, shopping on Bowens and Bannister Wharf, a clam bake at the Atlantic Beach Club, Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay Schooner Sail and much more! GPS highly recommended.

We want to thank the Corvette Club of Rhode Island and NCM Board Member Randy Flock for heading the trip and graciously stepping up to put this fun-filled, beautiful ‘Marble and Glass Corvette Weekend’ together.
