VISIT TO THE NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM

The Touch of "Glass" Corvette Club from Kansas City, MO visited the National Corvette Museum and Corvette Assembly Plant on May 21st, 22nd and 23rd to celebrate our 35th anniversary as a Corvette club. 28 members traveled from Kansas City to spend the weekend in Bowling Green, Ky and what a weekend it was. As we departed Kansas City on Friday morning, May 20th, traveling to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to watch the time trials for the Indy 500 and celebrate their 100th anniversary of the race. We continued our trip on to Bowling Green Saturday afternoon.

Many of our members have attended both the museum and the plant in past years but there were a few that made the trip for the first time. I must say the museum tour, provided by Chris Sweeny, was the best tour we have ever experienced. He made us feel as though we were VIP's. I cannot express our sincere appreciation for the time he spent with us and the information he provided.

The plant tour, as usual, is always exciting and just watching the Corvettes being assembled is a very moving experience. I don't doubt any of the members will ever be tired of watching those beautiful machines traveling down the production line. As the President of the Touch of "Glass" Corvette Club, I plan to travel to both the museum and plant many more times.

While we were at the museum on Monday afternoon, May 23rd, we had the opportunity and pleasure to watch three new Corvettes be delivered to their new owners. We were so impressed that several members plan to return to the museum to experience the delivery of their new Corvettes in the future.

We also visited several other attractions such as the rail and air parks while some members also traveled to sightsee in Nashville.

Our current plan as a Corvette club is to attend the 20th anniversary in 2014 and travel with the Corvette caravan.

Again, I must say, and on behalf of those on this trip, we had the best and most enjoyable visit and look forward to 2014.

Best regards,
